Bandicoot populations are exploding and are reestaablishing themselves in suburbs not seen for generations. Once endangered and confined to a few pockets the have spread up the Middle Harbour valley and are encroaching on backyards in Foretville and Killarney

Any other country, they'd call it a rat. Peramelemorphia Thylacomyidae is on the comeback in Sydney,(probably due to responsible cat and dog owners) digging up lawns and gardens close to the bush.

Ixodes holocyclus or grass ticks are carried by bandicoots. Immature paralisys ticks cause great discomfort and can lead to ongoing health problems much like Lymes Disease.

curl grub beetle

This is what they are after. Curl grubs are feeding on the roots of your lawn and plants. Bandicoots sniff them out and dig.

Imidacloprid is a systemic insecticide that will kill curl bettle grubs and other pests in your lawn and garden and has a low toxicity for humans. An application of pyrethrum will get rid of any anoying grass ticks.
